Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, the streets were always filled with a cornucopia of culture and the smells of international cuisine.  Our meals at home were usually influenced by the culinary history of the neighbors we befriended and came to love.  As a young adult, I traveled as much as I could and even lived abroad where I had the chance to experience some of those cultures firsthand.  I made lots of friends who I laughed & cried with over some of the best scratch-made, comfort food in the world.  So, the idea of offering comfort food on a buttermilk biscuit came organically while living in the small town of Mount Vernon Ohio, in 2015.  Boujie Biscuit (originally named, 'Build-A-Biscuit') was created out of passion for food, culture and real ingredients.  I decided to use a biscuit as a vehicle to introduce different comfort foods from around the globe to the people of that city using high quality ingredients. In 2017, I relocated the restaurant to a bigger city in Indiana, called Franklin, before finally opening the Frankfort Avenue location in Louisville, KY in 2018. 


There's nothing more satisfying than feeding someone a great meal that takes them back to their 'days of old'. Now, people come from all over the country (and sometimes the world) to eat our scratch-made, buttermilk, biscuit dishes, sides and home-brewed teas knowing that they'll be greeted with a smile and fed with love.
